2G scam: How can Thomas objectively supervise inquiry, asks Supreme Court

A new wave has crashed into the tsunami of the 2G scam after the Supreme Court questioned how PJ Thomas can, as the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), monitor the case objectively - he was the Telecom Secretary when the department allegedly took decisions that cost the government Rs. 1.76 lakh crore in what's received top billing among India's many scams. 2G scam: Govt to issue notices to 85 telecom firms

 
Telecom minister Kapil Sibal on Monday said notices will be served on all firms that suppressed facts to buy licences and airwaves for mobile phone services in the country and had fallen short of their roll-out obligations.
 
 
He also assured a thorough probe to see if they had manipulated the self-certification process about their financial strength and their main business - as specified in their memorandum of association - to get licences for telephone services.
